The boys are back in school! Last week they had orientation and yesterday was their first day. They both love their teachers and were so excited!

Here are some pictures from orientation.With their girlfriends...Reagan and Sloane.
Since I don't have a daughter, I have adopted Sloane...she is literally like a third child to me!
Ashton was not very fond of taking a picture with his teachers, but he warmed up fast and gave them a hug and kiss goodbye!

Thanks to Uncle Ky, we have the new iPad and we are ALL completely addicted to it! We NEVER get on our lap top anymore! Thanks Uncle Ky! It is the BEST! The boys fight over it and so do dad and I! Heading to Destin on Friday so hopefully I will have some cute pics to post we we return!

A Trip To The Hill Country

Today we took a trip to the Hill Country to see the bluebonnets and make a visit to Blue Bell. The bluebonnets were GORGEOUS and Blue Bell was amazing and of course YUMMY!

You will notice in the pictures this container around Leyton's neck...it is a bug cage and he carried it around the ENTIRE day...he found 4 lady bugs that he took hostage all the way back home!

Our first stop was Blue Bell in which we were given a 45 minute tour. We were able to see actual ice cream being made and the packaging process.

At the end of the tour you get a cup of ice cream of your choice...the boys were in heaven...after all it is the best ice cream in the COUNTRY!
Then we headed to the bluebonnets...Ashton was way more into them than Leyton...he ran and ran through the fields. Leyton on the other hand looked for more bugs!

Then we headed to this country restaurant called Bevers Kitchen in Chappel Hill. Really neat place and good food.

Even at 3:30 there was a long wait!

We had a great day without any major melt downs, thank heavens! The boys were out as fast as lights when we hit the road home.and yes with the bugs in tow.

Happy Birthday To My Little Monkey!

Today is my little man's birthday! I can't believe he is TWO! I had a Monkey themed birthday party for him at one of the pavilion's in our neighborhood. Since the older kids were in school this morning I decided to do a small party for Ashton and his friends. When the older kids are there it just seems to take away from the young ones! They did crafts, danced to monkey music, ate goodies and played at the park. Here are some pictures from the party...my friend Jamie took all of the pictures so I don't have that many to share yet!

I made these yellow pail favors for each kid filled with a stuffed monkey, bubbles, crayons, paint brushes, clappers and monkey stickers for their crafts!

Another favor was a personalized "Monkey Music" CD...and another was homemade banana nut bread.
They had a blast painting!

Here is a video of Ash blowing out his candles....it was VERY windy so it was quite a job to keep them lit!

I volunteered at Leyton's Valentine's party at school. I had so much fun watching him and his classmates play games, eat cookies and dance! Although as you will see in the videos to follow, my little man is a little "WOMANIZER"...YIKES!
This was his "girlfriend" of the day....watch how he holds her hands in the videos!

Glenn and Leyton went to Louisiana for Mardi Gras while Ash and I bonded together at home. I heard Leyton had the time of his life catching beads and spending time with Mimi, Poppy, Granny and the rest of the family.

In February, we celebrated Aunt Miklyne's birthday (Leyton thought it was his and blew out the candles!)

The Good and the Bad

Our night started out good...thanks to the Saints winning the Super Bowl! Woo hoo!

WHO DAT!!! But it ended bad with a trip to the ER...Leyton busted his chin open! He was excited about something and was jumping up and down and the bathroom rug slip from under his feet and bam...busted his chin on the bathtub! Poor baby...10 stitches and a car full of throw up on the ride home (side effect from the drugs)!

He was put under for the procedure...he didn't feel a thing thanks to the "Dizzy Medicine" as he calls it!
Our poor little guy...thankfully he is doing much better this morning!

Catchin' Up...

Just a couple of pictures to catch everyone up with the boys.

In January we decided to move Ashton into Leyton's room to help Leyton sleep all night by himself. Ashton absolutely LOVES sleeping in the room with his brother, in fact Ashton does better than Leyton! THANKFULLY, both of them are sleeping in their room all night (maybe a couple of "nightmare" wake ups from Leyton) and it has worked out GREAT!

Yes, this was BEFORE the haircut.
Leyton had "CRAZY DAY" at school, so he wore his shirt backwards and different shoes! He thought it was so funny!
And yes, the Ginger Bread houses still linger on....Glenn bought this one on sale and he didn't know for this one he had to make the icing from scratch (hint...SALE) so I let him have this one...The biggest hit around here has been Gammy's Christmas present to the boys...they love their Artic Cat Truck. It has been raining here EVERYDAY lately and all I hear from Leyton is "oh mom...I'm never going to get to ride my truck"! Hopefully the sun will shine SOON!!!

It was our neighborhoods annual "SNOW BLAST DAY" a couple of weekends ago and even though it was man made snow...it was 17 DEGREES outside and the snow stayed for 3 days after! Uncle Ky isn't used to this cold weather but he sure did get a LOT of it while he was here!

The kids had a blast sledding down the hill (and so did Uncle Ky).

After a long day in the snow we celebrated Ky's birthday and last night here in the states MEXICAN style!

Christmas (Round 2)

Okay...for days now I have been trying to add more photos to this post but for some reason this system just doesn't want them on here...so here are the ones that did make the download.

We headed back to our roots for a short trip for Christmas. We had a busy couple of days and it was so nice to see everyone. Sherrie and Bo thanks again for having us all over...it was so nice to see the new house...it is beautiful! I tried uploading pics from that night but was unsuccessful!

And thanks to Mimi and Poppy for all the cooking & hospitality! And of course a big thanks to Uncle Carl for making those yummy cake balls (that I have been having to hit the gym extra for!) and the famous "Mary's Gravy"! YUMMY!

It was also so nice to spend some quality time with Joseph...he is just a cutie pie and we just loved watching all of the boys play together!

Christmas (Round 1)

We had Christmas round 1 here before we headed to Louisiana for round 2...the boys really enjoyed all of their gifts from Santa this year. Leyton is at the age where everything that has to do with Christmas is so exciting to him...I just love to watch the joy and happiness that shins through his eyes!

Houston Winter Wonderland (for at least a day)

All week, the weathermen have been telling us of a possible snow fall for today...Glenn couldn't contain his excitement! The Weather Channel was on 24/7 in the Thibodeaux house. Well they were right...we woke up to snowflakes this morning and it snowed the entire day! Our area had the most snow and it was the earliest snowfall in Houston history along with a 4 inch blanket throughout our neighborhood. We had a blast and here are some pics of our "snow fun" to share with you all. Enjoy!

Santa went down during the storm! 2 1/2 inches by mid afternoon and still falling!

We had a fun filled Halloween this year! First we went to a friend's house and let the kiddos trick or treat together! They had so much fun! Of course I couldn't even catch up with Leyton...he was sprinting from one house to the next. Ash was really cute to watch and he absolutely LOVED his candy!

Leyton Turns 4!

Happy Happy 4th Birthday to our little Leyton....I can't believe he is 4 years old! Where does the time go? Leyton has been waiting for his birthday for months now...you don't know how many times he said "mom...it will never be my birthday"...well it was finally here and we have been celebrating since last Thursday...starting with his birthday party at school! I was able to go to his class and spend the day with him and watched as his class shower him with birthday wishes! He loved being the center of attention...literally!

Leyton and his teacher, Mrs. SchmidtMrs. Schmidt has a singing bear that the birthday boy/girl gets to press 3 times...they get a kick out of this!

Then is BIG birthday party was Saturday and we couldn't have asked for more perfect weather! We have been having so much rain here in Houston and we lucked out with blue skies on his party day! He had a Cars themed party and he had blast with all of his friends and loved every minute that it was "HIS" day!

My Little Man

Ashton and Leyton both go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays but only Leyton goes on Wednesdays. When it's my friend Andrea's turn for carpool and picks up Leyton, Ashton cries and cries because he wants to go too! Poor baby...he doesn't understand why that on some days she picks them both up and on others she only picks up Leyton! He throws a huge temper tantrum and I always have to take him for a walk to get his mind off this detrimental situation that he thinks he is in. This day after our walk he wanted to put out the LSU chairs that Mimi and Poppy brought us and sit on the porch! I do feel sorry for him when his brother leaves but how do I love the one on one time I get to spend with my little man!

Mission accomplished...looks like he is over his brother leaving!

Crazy Hat Day

Leyton had crazy hat day at school and since he never wears a hat I had to pull out an old favor hat from his 2nd birthday and let him decorate it with Halloween stickers! He is making progress: 1.) he is wearing the hat and 2.) he is smiling and looking at the camera!!! YEAH!!

Leyton started t-ball this past week and he is actually very excited about it...in fact he has NEVER let us put a baseball hat on him but now that he started baseball he doesn't want to take the hat off! My little man is growing up so fast! It's sad to say that we didn't make it onto the LSU team...sadly we are the Florida Gators :(

I know, I know...it has been a while! I don't even know when the last time I logged on to my blog or any other blog or website for that matter! Sorry! The boys are doing great and keeping us busy and we are loving every minute with them. Last weekend we took a trip to Gammy's house and the boys had a blast playing in the country and going to LSU to see Mike the Tiger!

These next two pictures crack me up...these cute little ladies just fell in love with Ash and he was loving being the center of attention.

Jennise and Kyle's Wedding

I know it has been a while but so many things have been going on! One exciting event that we were honored to be apart of was our good friends Jennise and Kyle's wedding. I was a bridesmaid and our little Leyton was the ring bearer...and a handsome one at that! The wedding was in Galveston and it was a such a great, fun-filled weekend!

Another One Bites The Dust

We are having bad luck with our fish lately...we have lost 2 in 1 week. Petco (or as Leyton thinks "heaven") has a 14 day policy so Glenn packs them up (yes, DEAD) in a zip lock bag and he and Leyton bring the fish back for another one. Funny story...when they got to "heaven", Leyton threw the bag on the check-out counter and told the worker "the fish had diarrhea" - Glenn said it was hilarious!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

We went to the mall for Leyton to take a picture with the Easter Bunny and he was on a "break" when we got there...so this is Leyton waiting for the him to come back.

Still waiting....and this was his face when he finally saw him!

Yesterday Mimi and Poppy came to visit and we dyed some eggs.
Before we went to bed last night we left some carrots for the Easter Bunny Leyton wanted to leave the eggs that we dyed so the Easter Bunny could see them.

Wow!! I am hunted out! Today we had another Easter Egg Hunt at my friend Kimber's house....as you can see the kids loaded up on sugar and burned some energy!

I made the cutest treats for the party...Cheetos in icing bags with green ribbons=CARROTS!

Easter Egg Hunt #1

Today we had a picnic and Easter Egg Hunt for the kiddos here in the neighborhood. It was such a GORGEOUS day and the kids had a blast and the moms had a blast watching them wear themselves out for a LONG nap! They had so much fun playing on the pier.

We tried to get a group picture of the kids...check out the baby at the top of the hill to the right...yep...that's my Ash...he wandered off to the top!

Happy 1st Birthday Ashton!

Today is the day that our baby Ash turns 1! It is so sad that he is growing up so fast :-( He is such a sweetie pie and I wish he could stay my baby forever!! He had a great birthday and enjoyed lots of cake and presents!

We had a little family celebration with Leyton's old birthday props! We always start birthdays around here by bringing a little cake into their room when they wake up and sing Happy Birthday!

During the day Ash got a delivery from Gammy and Aunt Miklyne....it was a TON of balloons, candy, a teddy bear and this music bus that he absolutely LOVES! Thank you!We waited for Daddy to get home from work to open presents and have the big cake!

Strawberries Anyone????

Today we went strawberry picking at Froberg's Vegetable & Fruit Farm...this was the neatest place EVER!!! I never knew we lived so close to such a true authentic Texas country store. There were 6 acres of strawberries and it was so much fun to pick out the best of the bunch! Leyton had a blast but wouldn't eat them, Ash on the other hand indulged himself into a strawberry comma! It was his first time he had strawberries and he LOVED them! We all had the best time and can't wait to go again!

Back in February I posted about Leyton's obsession with JELLO...well the obsession has escalated...now he loads them up on the back of his bike and rides around the neighborhood with them in tow!

Soccer 101

Leyton started soccer and boy what a sight...a bunch of 3 year olds running around not really knowing what to do. I guess you have to start somewhere though. Here are a couple of pictures from his first "practice". He did pretty well and I think he is so adorable in his soccer attire! After his practice Glenn went out and bought him his own soccer cleats...he wanted to wear them to bed!

And last weekend it was time for the BIG "FIRST" game! First of all we woke up and it was 40 degrees outside and the wind was blowing so bad that it felt like 20 degrees! The fields were muddy and all of the kids were freezing. We put socks on their hands, jackets underneath their jerseys and bundled up to watch the most hilarious soccer game EVER! The kids were kicking the ball to the fence instead of the goal, half of them were screaming and crying to get off the field, others were crying because they wanted the ball, others stopped in the middle for a "snack" break, and some (like mine) were begging to go "home" near the end!

On Saturday we took the boys to the Children's Museum...it was the NEATEST place EVER! We all had so much fun...I can't believe we have never been to this place! I have so many pictures on this post because there was just so much to do...and we didn't even do everything!

Rodeo Fun!

It is Rodeo time here in Houston and last week a couple of us took the kids for a full day of fun! They loved watching the chickens hatch out of their eggs

This year, unlike last, Leyton rode the rides! He had a blast!

After lunch the kids had ice cream...and as you can see Leyton enjoyed every last bit!

On Tuesday, Glenn took Leyton to his first Dentist visit...we were so worried that he was going to throw a fit, but instead he LOVED it. I had to post this picture...too funny! Dr. Caldwell said his teeth looked GREAT!!

Ash at 11 Months!

Today our baby Ash turns 11 months old! I can't believe in one more month he will be 1! It seems just like yesterday that he joined our world! He brings so much joy to our family and we are enjoying watching all of his developments. Things he loves: his big brother, baths, playing outside, bouncing in the bounce house, his bottle, eating, and getting into all of his brothers toys! His favorite foods are: bananas, turkey, potatoes, green beans, pasta and yogurt. He claps (at everything), gives kisses, waves bye bye and gives high fives. His words consist of mama, dada, night night, and Glenn swears that this morning he said "Leyton"...I need to witness this one! He is on the verge of starting to want to walk...he lets go and stands for a mere 3 seconds! He loves to use his walker and I think he really thinks he is walking all by himself.

Gammy sent him balloons to Ash for his surgery and they have been a BIG hit around our house...with Ashton AND Leyton. Funny story...when the man delivered the balloons I told Leyton that they were for Ashton for his surgery and Leyton cried and said "I want to go to surgery"...poor baby...but Gammy did write on the card that one balloon was for him! Thanks Gammy for the balloons!

Today Ash had surgery to get tubes put in his ears. After numerous ear infections our little guy is finally going to have a brake! At least we hope! Our morning started at 4:45 in order to be at Texas Children's Hospital at 6:00 a.m. Ash couldn't eat so he was kind of grouchy from lack of food but he was in good spirits otherwise, not knowing what was about to happen! The surgery took about 10 minutes (yes, I know...WOW) and then he was in recovery. When I saw him in recovery he was crying and groggy from the anesthesia but I held him and he downed 3 bottles of pedialyte and then he was his happy self again! He has been sleeping lots today but he is doing great! The best part is, Dr. Edmonds says that we don't even have to put ear plugs in his ears when he takes baths or swims :-) Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

Back To Our Roots

The boys and I are in Houma for MARDI GRAS this week (Daddy will join us on Monday) and looking forward to spending time with family and friends. It has been a LONG time since I have been to Mardi Gras. I will post pictures after I take the boys to their first parade...hopefully they won't be too scared of all the noise and crazy people hurling beads at them!

Kids Valentine's Party

Yesterday we had our annual kid's Valentine's party at my friend Kimber's house. The kids loaded up on sugar treats and had a blast playing together while all of us mommies visited!

I made these x's and o's cupcakes for the party...which I thought were really cute until I saw Carl's Martha cupcakes! Thanks Carl...you put me to shame!

Jello Obsession!

Okay it may be a little more than obsession...I guess I never really made jello from scratch for Leyton (how dare me!) I always just gave him the kind that comes already made. Anyway one day I made him some while he was napping and after dinner I gave it to him as his treat. He liked it but it wasn't until Glenn actually made it in front of him that he became OBSESSED! He couldn't believe how it is liquid at night and then the next morning it turns into JELLO! Only in a 3 year old's little mind could something be so amazing! So now every night Leyton and Glenn have a date in the kitchen to make a different colored jello...here he is making a purple batch.

I am not over exaggerating that he is obsessed...he has to SLEEP with the boxes of jello EVERY NIGHT!!!!!

Saturday we went to Reagan's (a.k.a Leyton's girlfriend) princess birthday party....and what a party it was...complete with a horse carriage! The kids went crazy when they saw the horses and were thrilled when they got to ride in the carriage!

Today Ash is 10 months old! My where does the time go??? He has another ear infection (hopefully the last before he gets tubes) but that hasn't stopped him from going and going! He is 24 pounds and is now pulling up on EVERYTHING and crawling EVERYWHERE! He is so much fun right now.

He loves acting like he is talking on the phone...

and loves his shades!

Trying to find different activities for the boys can come short some days so our days consists of many play dates with friends, playing in the backyard and when nothing else seems exciting we put pennies on the train track so they can get smashed flat by the trains!
